John Piper on Guilt

John Piper on How to Deal with the Guilt of Sexual Failure for the Glory of Christ and His Global Cause. He’s talking specifically about sexual sin and missions, but I think it applies to sin in general, and living the gospel life in general, and for someone as guilt-ridden as I tend to be, it was a really good message.

I was particularly struck by his reference of Micah 7:8-9. My hope nowadays is that when I fail, that this will be my rallying point.

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me. I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall look upon his vindication.
