Danny ChaiI’m a seriously bad writer. I didn’t get across what I meant in my last entry at all. Oh well, such is short thoughts.
I came across this chart that shows cousin relationships, and now I get it. No one exactly explained to me the difference between nth cousin and cousin n times removed. But they just explain the horizontal and vertical relationship. So Abby and Anna are I think 2nd cousins once removed. I think.
There was an extended blackout this evening, and it was actually kind of nice. We set up candles throughout the apartment, which gave it a nice mood. There was no sound of fans or televisions or anything else on the block. No light, so we were forced to get ready for bed. There’s something really peaceful about that: it gets dark, you have no choice but to sleep. Can’t really read, can’t watch TV, no Internet access. I took a short walk and that was also really peaceful. Complete dark except for moon and stars, and total silence.
Then the lights turned on around 10:30 and Jieun and I excitedly grabbed our laptops, and here we are, lying in bed using our laptops with big grins on our faces. Sigh. It’s impossible to unplug unless we’re forced to.
