Next day we went to the Met so we could pretend we care about culture. Just kidding. Kind of.

After visiting various museums I feel like I'm gradually learning more about art and coming to recognize and appreciate certain things. They had an exhibit on Matisse and I think I can pick out a Matisse painting in a lineup now and the remarkable features about it. But honestly, art is still somewhat of a mystery to me, like why certain pieces are important or whatever. My appreciation of art is still fairly visceral - I like it or I don't. And I think that's OK.

One exhibit I did love was the musical instruments rooms. That was absolutely fascinating, especially with the audio guides, where you could see and hear how the instruments have evolved over time. That I loved.
