So this is my New York trip recap. Fantastic trip, although a bit short and it would have been nice if we could have seen a few people we didn't. We did nearly no planning, and certain people we did end up seeing we only contacted hours in advance. Oh well, next time. This recap will be boring, like all recaps. It's also lame for several reasons, main one being, everyone's been to New York so there's no point in recapping what people already know. But I'm going to do it anyway. Because I'm an impish little centaur.

Jieun went to New Jersey for a 2 1/2 week summer institute for teachers. I went out after her program so we could spend a few days in New York. We arranged to meet at the train station near Newark International Airport.

Can I just say that the East Coast makes no sense? I'm sure most of you know this, but there are 2 Penn stations, one in New York, one in New Jersey. Yeah, that's not confusing. Also, they pronounce Newark like "Nerk" to make it sound as much like "New York" as possible. So a train station attendant announcing a train heading for "Nerk Penn Station" is pretty much useless to these ears. But whatever works for you.

Anyway, we met at the station and after an extended reunion time, took the train into the city. Apparently it's attached to Madison Square Garden because we came out and here it is. I'll be honest, that WNBA thing annoyed. Did anyone realize there's a season going on? Anyone?

Jieun was bothered by the huffiness of the guy here who hailed our cab. I guess I was expecting it. Based on the New Yorkers I know.
